Uganda Cranes Belgian tactician Paul Joseph Put has extended his employment contract with FUFA ahead of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations due to kick off in Morocco next month.

The Belgian replaced Serb Milutin Sredojevic alias Micho in November, 2023 on a two-year contract and has renewed his stay until 2028.

Put’s renewal was confirmed on Thursday at FUFA Kadiba Stadium by FUFA Chief Executive Officer Edgar Watson.

The Belgian helped Uganda Cranes return to the Africa Cup of Nations after missing out on the previous two editions and his side came close to sealing a historic World Cup dream ticket during the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.

Put has previously coached several countries on the African continent such as Gambia, Burkina Faso, Kenya and Congo Brazzaville.

In 2013, Put took Burkina Faso to the final of the Africa Cup of Nations, losing to Nigeria.
